I have seen other people with this same issue but no answers posted. How do
I recover my custom emoticons that disappeared when I upgraded to 8.1???

Hi Kimmi (and others experiencing lost emoticons and other content)

We're investigating these issues and will reply back when we have more
information about the problem and what the possible solutions might be.
We've seen this happen before when the emoticon store gets corrupted, but
we're trying to get to the bottom of whether or not this is the same issue
you're now seeing.

Thanks for your patience as we work to provide you with the best
information,
Stacia

Hi Kimmi,

I'm sorry you're having problems with your custom emoticons! I'd like to
confirm something: If you go to Tools - Emoticons, there is nothing listed
in the "Custom Emoticons" section of the dialog?

If you see no custom emoticons there, I'd like to investigate this problem
further. In order to do this, I'll need to get a copy of your old content
store.

Please reply here and let me know.

Thanks!
Jason

The default emoticons are there but none of the custom downloaded ones.

Jason, if my memory is correct custom emoticons do not get properly migrated
when they are not given a name (I believe there was a minimum characters
too..but it's been so long since I upgraded to WLmsgr I don't remember how
many).

Just a hint in which direction too look

I've posted a fix...for those who have lost custom ones and have problem re
adding them back in in the thread called "Lost emoticons due to mandatory
upgrade to version 8.1" by MKF
