This might be a little overkill, but you could boot up on the WinXP disk and
do a repair installation. This should reload the system files for windows
without deleting the programs, data, and associated registry entries.
If you do this, you will have to do all of the updates again since the
version on the disk. (ie SP1 and all windows updates since)
