I can't seem to find it anywhere, but can someone tell me the difference
between 8.5 and version 2008? I have 8.1 now, would you recommend upgrading
to 8.1 or 2008, or wait for version 9.0/2009?

Greetings,

Well, the versions are 8.1, 8.5 and 9.0. There is no "2008" (yes, it got added to the
product name for some ridiculous reason but it's not a separate version).

Anyway, although there's something to be said for not fixing something if it's not broke, 8.5
contains numerous bug fixes and I certainly would never recommend anyone to use 8.1
(especially on Vista).

Out of interest why was 8.5 not and automated upgrade or notification of
upgrade from 8.1?

I was running 8.1 and only realise 8.5 was about after surfing one day. I
thought in the past WLM notified you an update was available.

Regards,

Paul

Hi Paul,

It's pretty much standard procedure that the upgrade isn't put as an automatic update for
about 4-6 months after release. As such, there hasn't been enough time passed.
