Has anyone who has had the problem of no sound or audio with video present
with WLM 8.0 or 8.1 tried the 8.5 beta? Does this problem still exist for
you?
Has anyone else managed to solve this problem in an ACER laptop? Acer
doesn't want to acknowledge this happening, in my opinion.
Have a great summer all.

I have the same problem and I believe the problem is with Vista and WLM 8.1.
I am using two different computers, both bought recentlly. Each has Vista
Home Premium. One has a built in HP Webcam and the other has a Logitech
Fusion. On both computers we can see video but my contacts and I are unable
to talk to or hear each other. And on both, when I go under the Tools menu
in WLM and use the Audio and Video Setup, it says everything is working
properly. I was hoping WLM 8.5 might solve this problem but judging by the
posts I'm reading, it doesn't appear to have been resolved. Incidentally,
Skype works well for video calls using Vista. I'm trying out Yahoo Messenger
to see if the video call function works, but it is not yet fully compatible
with Vista and has some hangups and bugs that still need to be addressed.

Thanks for the reply, yes, got to agree, exactly my problems, works with
Skype, it also works with SightSpeed, which is free video chatting also. I
have to admit it is my opinion that the fault rests with Vista Premium which
I have on this laptop, sorry I didn't mention it. I have 8.0 on one computer
and 8.1 on another desktop and both of them work great with all video chat
programs, using XP Pro.
Take care.
