Last night I saw that I had 12 updates to install. I check WU on a daily
basis so I knew this was interesting.

The installation was flawless and had that Stage 3, 100 percent deal that I
had first seen when I installed the SP1 RC (which was then later
uninstalled).

What I noticed today, and this could just be a coincidence, I had a Backup
Neighborhood icon on my Desktop. This icon is from my off line backup
software (@backup) and also displayed previous backup caps (250 mg instead
of 2 GB). I had to uninstall that software, reboot, repeat that, before I
could delete that desktop icon.

Would there have been anything in those updates from yesterday that would
have brought up old icons along with old program information?

If anyone else experienced this, I'd like to know. Thanks, DH

I'll leave the rest to someone else... This part I can clear up...

Microsoft releases patches on a schedule (in general)...

Second Tuesday of each month.

So getting 12 updates on the second Tuesday of a given month wouldn't
necessarily be unusual. ;-)

Except 12 updates sounds like no updates have been installed since February.

:-)

There were several, non-security updates released for Vista on 08 Apr-08.
