8 BSOD's in 6 days since installing SP1

Vista Home Premium, x32

On June 29 Vista's updater let me know SP1 was ready and asked me if I
wanted to install it. I did. In the 6 days since installing it Vista
has unceremoniously rebooted 8 times (so far). Vista then informs me
that the reason for the reboot was "Blue Screen" and asks me if I want
to search for a solution. I say yes and 2 seconds later the little
dialog box disappears with no feedback and, apparently, no solution.
This is 4 or 5 times as many blue screen's that I've had in the 7
months since I bought this computer.

Does anyone have any idea of how to track down and correct whatever is
causing these "spontaneous rebootions"?

Thank you,

Don

1. Look in Event Viewer for clues. Either Start>Run>eventvwr.msc or use
Vista's Start>Search box and type in eventvwr.msc and then click in the
Results box above.

2. Try updating all your drivers. Get them from either each individual
component mftr.'s website (generic, home-built machine) or from the OEM's
website for your specific model computer (OEM box - HP, Dell, etc.).

3. If #2 doesn't help, do clean-boot troubleshooting to determine if
something you've installed is the culprit (and if it is, go to its website
for a patch, workaround, tech support).

Was this machine upgraded to Vista or did it come that way? There are
differences in the way the software handles things and some upgrades
are having 'issues' with SP1.The other thing is what non-standard
software are you using? Or what hardware are you using that alot of
people don't? There is something different about your machine and the
thousands of others out there that work fine, finding that something
is the key.
