800 MHz FSB with 667 MHz memory?

The system I'm looking at has the Intel T7300 processor at 2.0 GHz,
which is installed in a system with an 800 MHZ front side bus. The
memory (DDR2) is rated at 667 MHz.

I wonder if I would get just as much computer with the T5250/T450
processor, that while the FSB's are only at 667 MHz, the memory is the same.

When you pair a 2.0 GHz processor with an 800 MHz FSB with 667 MHz
memory, are you getting the same performance as a 2.0*(667/800) GHz
processor with a 667 MHz FSB?

The RAM, as well as the CPU, should be matched to the FSB speed for maximum
performance.

What kind of company sells a mismatched computer such as this? Others may
want to know.

Samsung, Sony, HP for starters.
The Intel chipsets support asynchronous memory and there is no need to match
the memory to the front side bus.
Add the fact that you can't buy 800MHz notebook memory and you may see why
what you say is a bit silly.
