Help!

On all my systems when I try and login to Messenger I get a 8004888d error
message. When typing in the username it takes ages to appear the password
does appear fairly quickly.

I have tried re-registring the DLL files 4 of which failed, however as I
have Windows Vista I expected this.

This has only happened since the last lot of MS updates. I have removed
these but the issue remains - system restore wont work either. Tried
disabling the firewall and issue remains.

If I try and use Live Sync I get told that "sorry there was an error, please
restart your computer" I think both are related but I cannot see what is
causing it

Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I have repaired it on Windows XP re-registering DLL
files, but nothing to do on my Vista computer. No solutions found after a lot
of hours searching...

Please help!

Recieved an email from Microsoft stating that it was a known issue and that
they have resolved it now, I am now able to login however all my contacts
have disappeared.

Oh Well not a major issue.

Thank you for your reply, today I am also able to login, and in my case the
contacts have not disappeared. More than six hours wasted looking for a
solution, and it was out of my hands... Greetings from Spain!
