I had this problem also. I found that restarting the
computer in safe mode and installing the update from
there seemed to work fine.

Marco,

Try a search?

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=80...ff=1&scoring=d

(Google Groups search for
8007000D OR 0x8007000D MVP OR MSFT group:microsoft.*.windowsupdate
- sorted by date)

Unless you are particularly interested in making the update work
through WU you can see that the most common suggestion for
avoiding problems such as this is either downloading the update
and installing it manually or in this particular case ordering a CD.

If you are interested in diagnosing the symptom try doing a find
for files which were changed on the day of the update which
contain that code (e.g. various log files.) Then extract just a
context for those codes (e.g. based on timestamp in the log
messages) for separate analysis.

Good luck
