I don't have BitDefender or Spybot. I use eTrust, which is provided by
Microsoft for its employees for their home systems. eTrust Realtime
Monitoring also caused the same 80070020 error with the Office 2007 SP1
update.
Thanks to the posts here, I accessed the kb article
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;883825 and was able
to extrapolate to my own situation and turn off eTrust realtime monitoring.
The update then downloaded and installed without issues.
However I am mildly amazed that Microsoft isn't making this more obvious or
clear (or fixing it), since MS provides eTrust, as well as the Office Sp1
update, to its own employees.
