80070103 Error

Hi. I have a driver installed for Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Networking -
Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter. However, it
is not working. (has an exclamation mark icon next to it with an error Code
1).

I have run windows update to get an updated driver. but get an error message
during installation that says.

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error
while attempting to install it

Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter

The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display
name."

I have tried everything i can think of to update this driver, but always get
this error or one that says my driver is up to date.

Can anyone help?

Hi there,

Never take drivers from MS unless you like problems, if really needed
download them from realteks website. if it ain't broke: do not try to "FIX"
it.


Try rolling back on the driver installed now or use system restore in safe
mode to a point when the problem was not showing.
