I have no problems with Sync over wireless, but through USB I get

80072ee2. The server could not be reached.

WM 5.0, AS 4.1, Qtek 9100

Thanks

Steven

Try clearing your proxy setting under your connection settings > connections
> manage existing connections > proxy settings tab, make sure that This

network connects to the Internet is selected and that the This network uses
a proxy server to connect to the internet box is unchecked.

Hi,
Is the host name the same internally and externally in the DNS?

I just had the exact same problem with my new 8125. Tried your suggestion and
it worked!

Sorry, I don't mean to throw a spanner in the works but I get this error when
I configured the same internal/external DNS name to resolve the external ip
address, because WM 5 seems to time out if I try a GPRS sync after a USB sync
until you terminate Active Sync from memory.
Someone said that Active Sync is caching the ip ... but it apears there is
more to it ... so I am back to the drawing board.

Michael,
I am seeing the same behavior. Sync from USB fine, pull from cradle and
sync fails. Close Active Sync in running applications, retry sync and it
works. I have no Proxy configured for my wireless network, and the
internal/external DNS name are the same for the OWA server. I would love to
know what is going on with this.

Thanks for this. When you stated that AS was caching the IP, my 8125's (10 of
them) are acting the same way. When I terminate AS from PDA memeory and
connect to PC sync's just fine. If I just plug it in, after sync'ing via
wireless, I get the 80072ee2 error. As long as I close AS in running apps
between sync'ing wirelessly or via USB it works, otherwise I get 80072ee2 or
on the PDA I get Waiting for Network. I think it is not releasing the IP
correctly? Do you know of any fix? Thanks.

Michael.

I have not found a solution for this yet. I have posted on pdaphonehome.com
and did not receive any answers there either. Google searches turn up very
little for 80072EE2 as well.

Since so few have reported this problem I wonder if there is something
peculiar with the networks our devices are connected to. I'm still looking
around for something. I'll post it hear if turn up anything.

I thought the same thing about the network, but I am not doing anything
really odd. I am using an internal DNS server. I can reproduce the problem
pretty readily by manually terminating the AS program. It responds the same
on all PDA's I have.

Thanks. I will look forward to any news.

Michael.
