80072ee2 when trying to sign in - all tests complete OK

Since yesterday afternoon, Messenger is unable to sign in.

Running the "Repair" tests show everything is working fine - I just can't
sign in!

The error I get is that several attempts were made, 80072ee2 is the error,
would I like to troubleshoot?

Troubleshoot runs everything fine, and that's it. Can't sign in, but the
connection-level stuff seems OK.

80072ee2 is a timeout from what I can gather - service status page shows
everything is fine.

It doesn't work with either messenger account I've tried it with.

Any suggestions? I don't understand why it Just Stopped Working...

Magically fixed itself.

Either my ISP was being weird, or the Service Status page is useless. Either
way, relievedly using 8.1 non-beta now.

Greetings,

Actually, the service status page is only updated when there's a completely system-wide
shutdown. So, yes, it is useless.
