80072F8F Vista Update error

      09-22-2006
I get this message and unable to update my RC1. My keys are correct but I did
have to activate RC1 over the automated phone system.

I have curred the fault, My pc time was set to 2003 for some reason? anyway I
set it to 2006 and all is fine now updates as it should.

Setting my PC clock to the correct time corrected the 80072F8F error for me
as well.

Same Here. I was getting the Blue Screen of Death with Vista 64. Updates I
was able to get seem to have cured it... so far. I reset the date and time
(don't remember if I ever set the date before) and got the current updates
for my machine. Seems okay now.

Make sure that the time and date including Internet Zone are correct on your
computer.
You may have to reboot after synchronizing your computer's time etc.

Check the date on your computer.

Start button || Control Panel || Clock || Language || Region

Then click Date and Time - make sure that the date and time are correct.

(Provide the Administrator password or confirmation if prompted to do so.)
