You are using a version of the AOL software earlier than AOL 8.0 Plus.

The AOL Web browser that is included with versions of the AOL program that are
earlier than AOL 8.0 Plus did not communicate correctly with the Windows
Installer software. As a result, Windows Installer may stop responding.

Updates fail to install and you receive error message 0x80070643 - WinXP
Check the C:\WUtemp to see if the Update files exist as being downloaded. What
happens is that a folder is created for the update and inside the folder is the
actual installation file. Once the install is successful the WUtemp folder will
be empty.
You can download the update from the Catalog and save to be installed later.

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you
want, Click the "Go To Download Basket" link. Type in or browse to the location
where you want the updates saved to and then Click the "Download Now" button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.
