867801 not listed in CP

I installed the patch 867801 and it is not listed in Control Panel. is
this normal? also how are patches and hotfixes listed in CP? by #,
date? thanks.

Kaylene, I noticed on my system that there is no Uninstall directory for
this hotfix under C:\windows even though it is listed in Add/remove
programs. I haven't see this before. I thought if it could be removed
there would be an uninstall directory. I have removed those for other
hotfixes once I know the system is stable.

Some are listed under Windows XP Hot Fixes, other Outlook
Express and/or Internet Explorer - Look for the number
after the entry.

I've just checked the system here and there is nothing in
the Uninstall area in C:\windows.
I then did a search of *867801" and located the entry
(make sure you have hidden and system files included in
the search).
Best to leave this one alone and leave it where it it.

Allthough I'm using win2k on one sys I have a problem(s) caused by this
update.
The only listing for it on my sys is in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
as Security Catalogue.
It is shown in IE help/about

You should be able to remove the update from Add/Remove
in the Control Panel.

A search shows several entries for it with *.cat, *.inf, and *.pnf
extensions, but no directory. Interesting that the others have an
uninstall directory. Anyway it's running fine on my system so I won't
be uninstalling it.
