Every single time I try and download updates for Windows - I click the
"express" and then suddenly I'm yelled at by an error that says,

"This service pack requires the machine to be on AC power, before setup
starts"

what does this even mean??
IT's plugged in - so the battery doesn't die, and has a connection plugged
into it for Internet. This is beyond frustrating. Any help would be great

Update your hardware drivers and/or contact your system manufacturer for
support.

Also - in the future - give a few details. Operating System, Service Pack
you are attempting to install, etc. ;-)

Geez, now errors are yelling !

Why not provide further information, perhaps what OS including SP level or
even what update you're trying to install.

We can't hear what's happening.

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP2; Vista Gold) when
posting to this newsgroup.

The battery is securely inserted in its bay or it's just "plugged in"
somewhere (e.g., an external charger)?
