Accept or Deny Conversation Invite Request..does it exist?

I have some younger family members on my contact list who have a penchant for
adding all their friends into a mass conversation. Didn't MSN Messenger or
old Windows Messenger used to have an option where you were presented with a
pop up asking to accept or deny the mas chat invite?

Nowadays I find myself being added to conversations with multiple people I
don't know and who then try to add me to their 'Friends' list.

Does a feature to confirm a chat invite exist or is there an add-on I can
get to facilitate this?

Nope, Messenger has never had such an option and it's a long-standing request.

There is a few workarounds to prevent this but I would assume you'd reject them all as
they're really quite annoying to setup and maintain. The best bet is to simply tell them
that you wouldn't like to join said conversations in the future.

May I ask what the workarounds are? I have tried the option of asking them
not to add me but being kids they see it as some sort of game so I'd like to
try whatever I can before I block them altogether.
