That's the whole thing, my husband had a trial version of CA virus
protection, he uninstalled that so he could download the free protection of
CA from Time Warner and that's where our problems all started. He did
somethhing and we ended up with a black blank screen. I reinstalled the disk
that we got from gateway (big mistake) our computer is like it was the day we
bought it. We are unable to download any virus protection because we don't
have SP2 downloaded, at least that is what the message keeps saying. Our
computer will be 6 years old next month and I afraid we may need a new one,
anyone with any suggestions on how to correct the problem, short of throwing
the whole thing out the window

I would appreciate it. Thanks, Susie
