Access denied - What can I do?

When I explore my main Vista disk, I frequently find folders, or shortcuts
to folders, which I cannot look inside. I receive the message "Access
denied", even though I am working from an Administrator account. What can I
do to gain access to these folders?

Try taking ownership of the folders.

Many of those folders are Pseudo,,, ones that are there for Program
Compliance
purposes like C:\Documents and Settings - there is nothing in the folder
now. It
is a Virtual Folder or Junction.

I had this problem yesterday. You may have got Bitlocker ON. If thats the
case go to Control Panel - Security - Bitlocker Drive Encyption - Turn Off
or Decypt Volume.

That solved my case.
