My daughter accidentally deleted her kids User

pictures................Thanks !

Did she just delete the account or did she also choose to delete the files
associated with that account?

If the former she could just try remaking the account with the same
username, she may have to take ownership of the files but then again she may
not.

How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...308421&sd=tech

If she chose to delete the associated files then she should have a look at
PC Inspector File Recovery from
http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm this may be able to
recover them.

Of course the easiest way to recover the photos is to get them of the backup
CDs/DVDs she made. She does have backups....dosen't she??

System Restore doesn't restore your documents (in most cases, that would
be *really* annoying)

But system restore might restore the user account (to keep the same
account ID). Maybe needing to (re)set the password on the account, and
then logging in.

Otherwise, take ownership of the files (if they're still on the drive)
via an administrator account and then re-delegate them to a new account.

If the account was deleted via Control Panel User accounts or in another admin profile, check the recycle bin, if not present a data recovery service with Vista Experience is the only other practical route.

I only just saw this posting, so it's a bit late but not too late to
try using photo recovery software to get back the pictures. See
www.photo-recovery.info .
