accidentaly deleted Videos folder....... HELP!

I've dragged by mistake (bad mouse) the Videos folder to nearby Searches
folder so I went back and cut and paste the Videos folder from Searches to
it's previous location (upper level). For some reason however, the Videos
folder still showed in Searches (although I've cut and paste it) so I went
ahead and deleted what appeared to be a duplicate Videos sub-folder under
Searches. I also confirmed that I want the files permanently deleted as the
Recycle Bin won't tale them due to their large size. To my surprise, the
Videos folder disappeared for good from both Searches foder and it's original
location although, again, I only deleted it from the Searches folder...
How can I undo this operation and restore all my 53GB of videos?
I need your help guys... big time

I just talked to someone that had the exact same thing happen with their "Pictures" folder and lost all their pictures. Fortunately, we were able to restore from a backup, but I'd think there's something very troubling about the OS in that this can happen.
