Help! I attempted to clean up my computer by deleting large program files. I
accidently deleted Realtek Sound Audio driver from my hard drive. Everytime
I try to play music or video there is an error message that pops up saying no
sound device has been detected on my system. I don't have my original discs
on me and am wondering where I go to download the drivers and rectify this
problem quickly.
Help

Which one do I download? My Sony Viao model is pcg-7f1L and I have Windows Xp
operating. The reason I ask is I downloaded the following but was warned not
to proceed as problems may occur in the future:

Windows 98Gold/98se/Me/2000/XP/2003(32/64 bits) for Driver only. For Windows
98 SE, DirectX(R)8 is required to enable advanced features. (Executable file)

Realtek on my computer is only 9.73MB. Hardly a big program when compared to
Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro at 1.23 GB! I guess you meant it when you said:
"accidently." Did you remove it using Add or Remove programs?

Happiness is a recent backup!

I have the same problem. To make it more complicated the drivers at Realtek
are not signed. The latest driver at your Realtek link is 6.0.1.6280
(unsigned) and the one I deleted was signed and is 6.0.1.6282. How can I get
Vista update to reinstall 6.0.1.6282? Or in the alternative get Vista SP! to
allow me to install an unsigned driver (6280)?

If you removed the driver through the Device Mgr just Shutdown & Restart.
Windows might reinstall gthe driver, or find another one.

Go to realtek.com and download the drivers. Make sure you know the model
number of your audio card.
