Help...the above ACER 5021 AMD 64bit chip is the machine I currently
have.Since 23rd August, Windows will not let me update. I've validated
Windows and have no issues there.Whenever I try to update, I get punched back
to "Register or reinstall the files for me now (Recommended)" which I have
done countless times. I have disabled Norton...no effect. I have re-enabled
Norton...no effect. I have tried the "Let me read about more steps that might
be required to solve the problem"...no effect. I'm at a loss. Is there
something in the registry I should look for? Does AMD 64bit technology have a
problem with Windows Update? HELP!!!
