I moved my hard drive from one computer to another now my windows will not
activate because of the product number was registered on my old laptop. I
did not think I would have a problem because I simply removed my hard drive
and placed it in this computer so I am not trying to install it again.

My windows will not activate because of this. What can I do?

If it is a retail version of Windows phone for activation. If it's an OEM
version (came with the old laptop) then the license is tied to the old
computer.

You also posted this in the installation_setup newsgroup, to which I
replied. Please check there for the reply. Note: when posting to more than
one newsgroup please don't multipost, crosspost instead. In this instance
there was no need to post to multiple groups, anyway.

Multiposting is sending separate messages to each newsgroup. This is
counterproductive, results in duplication of effort, and folks in one
newsgroup don't see the replies in the others. Best is to crosspost,
sending one message at the same time to all newsgroups.

Thank you Rock, I was not aware as this was the first time I have ever
posted. I activated by telephone and everything is fine. Thank you.

No begging needed. I did this recently for Vista. They asked one question,
was it installed on more than one machine. Very polite and efficient.
