Activation impossible after Windows Update

I have just updated the Nvidia drivers on my Dell P.C. - now I have been told
that I need to activate Vista Ultimate within 1 day. I have tried to
re-activate via the Web (I have already activated once) but am told that my
activation code is already in use (by me !!!). I have tried to re-activate
over the 'phone, but have been told that my codes are invalid and then am
passed on to a different number which cuts out after one ring. I have just
tried to e-mail Microsoft to resolve this problem, but see that my 90-day
free support has just run out. Given that this seems to be a problem with the
Vista set-up triggering a requirement for re-activation after driver updates,
I find it hard to take that i will be forced to pay £40 plus VAT to resolve a
problem which is effectively a Windows Vista glitch. For the moment I have
resolved the problem by using System Restore - does anyone have any ideas how
to resolve this, or will Microsoft do what they should do and issue a patch ?
N.B.: I see from the Community chats that I am far from the only one to have
this problem and so far the only answer is to contact Microsoft for a new
activation code at your own cost !

You could also consider ridding yourself of Vista and installing Linux
that requires no activation or becoming "genuine". Not only that, it's
free and can copied and installed on as many computers as you want.
Check out http://www.ubuntu.com/ They will even pay the postage to send
you the CD.
