Windows Vista Ultimate 64; Office 2007 Professional Plus
Epson NX510 All in one Printer, is default printer under Printers. Wil
print test page and document saved on desktop. Will not print a saved o
new doc. Document goes to "Not Responding" when print command is used
Do a esc to clear, then Print properties box opens. In drop down men
no printer shown, click on drop down menu arrow and printer is shown
highlight and click ok, nothing happens, does not enter it. Click o
find printer get the following "Active Directory Domain Services i
currently unavailible"
Do a quick print command, "Windows cannot print due to a problem wit
the current printer setup." Click ok, next window comes up "Print Setup
shows as No Default Printer, Printers list the Epson NX510 Series
highlight it but Set as Default Printer will not activate, (remain
grayed out), click options- "Word cannot bring up the properties dialo
because the printer returned an error". click ok to acknowledge an
close that message window. Click cancel on still open Print Setup an
get "Word cannot Print. There is no printer installed". Click ok and yo
are back to square one, the document
Anybody, anybody at all, have an idea as to what is happening. Hav
tried pretty much all the suggestions on the forums; from deleting al
addons, registry editing, etc
BTW all updates have been applied for Vista, office and Epson. Hav
tried different office including trials, different versions of epso
drivers. Obvious has not worked
Anybody have a MS tech friend that can help

Epson NX510 printers will not do this when you are in DC mode. The OS (64bit) has
to be in the AD mode for you to be able to print saved or new doc. In DC mode all
you can do with the printer is to print Test or diagnostic pages

1) Be sure you installed the 64 bit drivers on the computer.
2) If this is a shared network printer, you will have to install the
appropriate drivers by hand. 32/64 bit drivers are difficult.
3) You don't say weather this is a network / parallel / USB or other
connected printer. USB printers, be sure to have the correct motherboard
chipset drivers installed with USB support. Parallel, aren't that many
around anymore; but, it should work
4) If you create a new text file in like notepad, can you print from that
application?

Thanks for the reply, but are your talking about (DC or AD mode)
Direct connect or Ad Hoc? Have my computer as main with 13300 Epson 6
driver software, daughters as secondary with Epson 13301 32 drive
software. Neither are USB connected but rather run thru the router, an
wireless from router to printer. Daughters prints everything fine,
prints test page, saved documents and web pages). Mine only (prints tes
page and text document from desktop). I have tried both 13302 64 bi
Epson Combo- Network and the current 13300, both are the same result.
Once upon a time when I downloaded and installed the different Offic
2007 suites it would hold and print everything just as supposed to bu
when I would go to print something at a later time it had changed to th
not responding
No idea or clue what would change the settings. Thought that maybe
just maybe that it might be the sleep mode. Don't think so because whe
I reinstall the office suites now it is a no go from the get go, whethe
it be trial or activated

Haven't tried to connect using eternet cable, like using the wireless

1st troubleshooting was to Epson, they walked me thru everything o
setup, everything ok. They said that it was a MS program problem.
would tend to agree, but I am no expert on these problems

All are 64 bit that is required/needed. Verified that was able to us
for short period of time after initial install of Office suite
Appropriate drivers installed, 64 on mine, 32 on daughter's
Was originally installed as network then changed both to local ports
both ended same result as currently
Will print a .txt from desktop and file. Will also print .jpg fro
file. That is what I don't understand, it will not print .doc o
.docx;;

Are you saying that on my computer I need to do it adhoc?
Did you have to do yours that way and any idea why that would be?
That is about the only thing that I haven't tried

BTW, it would appear that the install cd can only be used once. The on
that I got with the printer I used to install and it would not open/ru
again. Epson sent me another which I used and once again it will no
open/run. If that is the case I wonder why they would do such a thing.

Don't believe that I will be being any more epson products again

Will let you know how I fare

Yes that is what I am saying. I run a W2K3 Enterprise and any printer that I use has
to be set in AD or I run the same issue as you do now

Peter

I decided to start from the beginning. Started bu uninstalling all th
Epson programs from Add/Remove that would uninstall from there, and als
a couple of other independent programs, such as affixa, visipics.

Started with DC USB connection, installed software for just m
computer, no network. All went fine including printing from file .doc
Correct Printer showed up as default printer on Print command an
printed fine

Went to Adhoc setup, unable to get the printer detected to continu
installation

Went to wireless setup. Set everything up on printer, installe
software. Somehow ended up with total of three printers; copy 1, copy 2
and copy 3. Copy 3 was correct one in this case and everything print
fine for now. Unable to delete copy 1 and copy 2 because of an error i
delete attempt, at least that is what it says.

One of my copy programs was preventing the Epson CD fro
loading/running. Turned it off and it loaded and ran for me to reinstal
the drivers from the cd, as supposed to. It updated the drivers on it'
own during install

For now everything is fine, will see what happens in a couple days an
further down the road

Thanks for the attempt
