First, I would remove all Active Sync - MS likes to start anew sometimes.
Yes, when you instsall AS do no have the device in the cradle. next verify
your usb drivers are install correctly and that XP is not reporting any
errors. Make sure also that in yoru hardware list that you see Windows
CE(Pocket PC) USB Devices. Without that you're never going to get anywhere.
After verifying those items I would then install version 4. From what've
read and seen so far with the limited rollout in my office, is that it is a
lot more stable.
