HTC could do it, but there's no 'stop syncing.txt' file that you can remove and expect it to be suddenly fixed. Report the problem to the manufacturer or to the people from whom you bought the device. Any information you can figure out with respect to something you're doing that might trigger the problem (you enter a lot of notes for contacts or calendar events and when you enter a long note, things stop working, for example). You might want to also read the log files themselves, rather than counting on the troubleshooter to do it for you. An error code from a log file can be very helpful in making a good guess as to what's going on. Paul T. "sandeep via PocketPCJunkies.com" <u37241@uwe> wrote in message news:780a5f220ff24@uwe... Bought a HTC PPC6800 Touch? from Alltel. about 3 weeks go by and they wanna give me a refurbished cause mine won't open e-mail attachments, rename, move, or delete files. So I did a hard reset and everything works normal but activesync won't establish a connection. I think its a network settings issue because before I reset the phone I had to play with the settings to get it to connect but it wouldn't sync probably due to the files issue. I can't remember what made it work though. On a side note I'm confused about ip addresses, each computer has an ip but what about all the adapters on a computer? Do both my wired and wireless adapters need to have different ip's or should they all be the same. but individual to each computer or router? On Friday, January 04, 2008 10:33 AM Paul G. Tobey [eMVP] wrote: Yes, each adapter on a computer has *at least one* IP address. Yes, each adapter on a computer has *at least one* IP address. It's possible, although confusing, to assign several IP addresses to a given adapter, too. So, when you plug your Windows Mobile device into the USB port on your PC, your PC now has (at least), two adapters, the Ethernet adapter that presumably connects you to the local area network, and the USB RNDIS adapter which is the Windows Mobile device. Each of those has an IP address (just one, as far as we know). There is no right answer for how the addresses should relate to each other, but the IP assigned to the PC by the Windows Mobile device is in the 169.254.2.x area by default and your Ethernet adapter might have almost any address. Whether they are similar, totally different or whether your PC even has an Ethernet adapter is no concern of ActiveSync. Paul T. There can only be one item with a given IP on the same network (physically connected). Yes, the device should *not* be set to get an IP address from a DHCP server; it should be statically assigned to 169.254.2.1. There should not be any settings necessary on the PC and you should *not* be fooling with the adapter configuration of the mobile device 'adapter'. The PC needs to have the DHCP client service running, so that it can get an IP, which will always be 169.254.2.2, *from* the Windows Mobile device, which acts like a DHCP server for the little network consisting of the PC and the mobile device.
