Active Sync Pocket PC Contact Issue

Just bought a new Audiovox VX6600 Pocket PC running Windows 2003 and Active
Sync Version 3.7.1. Everything seems to work fine with one exception. When
using Active Sync, everything is synchronized (Calendar, Tasks, Favorites and
Inbox), but my Contacts catagory tells me "Sync status is on the device".
None of my contacts in Outlook on my home computer make it over to my Pocket
PC.
When setting up the partnerships, the Contacts catagory shows up only being
available when syncing to a server. I'm attempting to get my contacts out of
Outlook 2002 on my XP Home PC. Is there a reason that it will not accept my
contacts?
Thanks, Bob

Hi,
Have you tried a detect & repair of Outlook and then reinstalling
ActiveSync?

Chris, Thanks for your reply.... I was just fiddling with Active Sync this
morning, changing any setting I could find to see if it made any difference.
As it turns out, on the Options/Sync Options menu for Active Sync, if you
uncheck the "Enable synchronization with a server" option, it then moves the
contacts category up into the Desktop area where it syncs just fine. I've
been pulling my hair out for 3 days trying to get my contacts to sync and all
it was was a simple checkbox under settings...

Hi,
I understand. The server options only apply when users sync with Exchange
2003.
