Active Sync Problem

2 days ago, I started having a problem with my HP5500. Every time I switch
it on it comes up with a message box:

Connect To
'115200 Default
Status: Connecting to Host.

with buttons 'Cancel' and 'Hide Status' underneath.
I have tried both a hard and soft reset and nothing has fixed it.
Also when I try and use the fingerprint mode it also comes up with the error
message.

It seems like you device tries to initiate a com connection. This can be
either a hardware issues (the connection slot is damages) or a third party
application that keeps requesting that.
If you connect anything but the sync cable to your device in the connection
slot (GPS receiver, car charger...) those applications/solutions might be at
fault
