active sync won1t sync properly

running a hx 4700 pda sync fine when set for the desktop, here`s the good bit
it`s unable to sync with exchage 2003sp1 with sbs2003std when in its cradle
in both directions. have deleted & created new partnership with active sync
and the rest.
e-mail seems to sync ok,don`t know about contacts, but calender is not
syncing in either direction. any ideas would be great.
