I have setup folders (Clients, Personal, Hotels, Restaurants, etc.)
underneath the main Contacts folder. Instead of using Categories, this
makes it easier to isolate these types of items and also to export them on
the fly.

In addition to the my iPaq, I use a Sony Clie and Beyond Contacts (an
Outlook conduit and program) which picks up these folders just fine.
However, ActiveSync on the iPaq will only pick up the parent folder.

I have already gone to each sub-folder's Properties and told it to show the
particular folder as an eMail address book, which is the only way to have it
show up when sending eMail; I thought this might help it to be seen by
ActiveSync but it hasn't.

Any suggestions? Feel free to reply to this post and/or to eMail me
directly at .

Thanks,

Allen

You can not sync sub folders in Contacts. Instead, use the "Catagories" tab
to sort your contacts.

Hi Allen,

ActiveSync will synchronize only the main Contacts folder. It does not
support synchronization of local folders created by you on your desktop. It
supports a feature called Categories for sorting purpose. For better
understanding on how categories can be used to sort your Contacts:

If you want to synchronize Contacts that are stored in sub folders, then you
can consider using the PCS add-in for Outlook.

* Outlook PCS Add-in --

For more information about this tool --

Other alternatives would be to use third party application which support
synchronization of non-default folders. For more information, you should
consider visiting the following sites:

* Pocket Lookout ---

* Pocket OnSchedule ---

http://www.odysseyinc.com

* Intellisync ---

Regards,
Raj
