Put in a simple format: ActiveX is important to you if the web pages you
want to use/MS Office documents you want to use utilize it. If they do not,
then ActiveX is not all that important to you.
Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find
information on problems you may be having and solutions others have found:
Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to:
http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )
What is ActiveX?
http://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+ActiveX
One of the hits:
http://kb.iu.edu/data/afoi.html
How do I disable activex controls?
http://www.google.com/search?q=How+d...tiveX+Controls
Two of the hits:
How to stop an ActiveX control from running in Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240797
and
How to Disable ActiveX Controls in Internet Explorer
http://securitywatch.eweek.com/brows...xplorer_1.html
Not really sure why this is necessarily a "Windows Update" functionality
issue... Also, in the future, I would suggest giving some details... Like
the Operating System you are using, the edition of said operating system,
the architecture of said operating system, the service pack level of said
operating system and what version of Internet Explorer you have. ;-)
