I am working my way through an active sync problem, of which there seem to
be many in this forum.

The very first time I connected the Pocket PC to the laptop and stepped
through the setup the device synchronized the inbox and contacts from the
Exchange 2003 server at the office. It did not sync the calendar. Every
attempt since then the sync of the contacts, inbox and calendar fails with
Internet_31 as the reported error.

There is a good and stable connection between the pocket pc and the laptop
at all times. I can use the browser on the pocket pc with no issue and it
will sync items from the laptop. It is the sync with the Exchange Server
that won't work.

I have tried this will mutliple PC's, all with the same result or nearly the
same results. Active sync doesn't seem to work reliably.

I can get a reliable update of the inbox by switching it to IMAP. That
works all the time. However, I really want the calendar to work and so far,
that isn't happening.

If anyone has had similar experiences and managed to troubleshoot them
please weigh in.

Thanks very much.

Are you trying to sync with the laptop or the server?

I have the same problem and I tried a lot of things after reading
suggestions from others (like creating a new virtual map and disabling
Certificate checking).

But after reading lots of documents I have to come to the conclusion that
it's probably a problem with certifcates. I think after I install a
certifcate to the exchange server (2003) and the pocket pc (2002) it will
work, but i haven't test it yet.

If anyone knows how te solve the problem, please let us know.

Greetings, Jurgen

When you sync to your Exchange Server, you can either use SSL or avoid using
it. If the Exchange server restricts NON-SSL requests, then you have to by
all means use SSL (Recommended)
For this to work you have to have the server root cert on your device or
have it signed by one of the trusted root certs on your device.

Internet 31 stands for a connection reset and perhaps the serber resets the
connection for Authentication reasons.

Hello,
I have a Audiovox Phone Pocket PC, I installed Activesync 3.7.1 on my PC but
I cannot connect with my PPC because a partnership must be established.
Apparently, a Partnership Wizard should appear the first time I connect the
cradle (with PPC) and the PC. However, I did not see any wizard and I
re-installed the ActiveSync. several times.

Anybody has a suggestion for me?
Thanks.
