Hello, Just about to pull my hair out!!! I have had my ppc6700 for
about 8 months now and all has been great. I’ve had no major problems
except a soft reset now and then. I upgraded to Activesync 4.2 when it
1st came out and haven’t had any problems until two days ago.

Now when I connect my phone to pc using the cradle with a USB
connection, my pc sees the USB Windows Mobile Unit, but Activesync
shows connecting and then times out.

I disabled firewall & virus scanner (no luck)
I tried removing the USB drivers and reinstall (No luck)
I tried to repair, remove, and attempt to re-install Activesync (I get
a blue screen of death)
I tried removing memory modules then repair, remove, and attempt to
re-install Activesync (I get a blue screen of death)
I tried soft reset phone not connected to pc (No Luck)
I tried soft reset phone connected ( Sync with no problems, but
stopped later)
I tried hard reset on phone (Sync with no problems, but stopped later)

The only changes I make when I am able to sync is that I turn on
bluetooth and take the phone to work…..

I’m at my wits end!!! Any suggestions would be great

Hi,
Did you try the option to Troubleshoot ActiveSync in ActiveSync on the PC
under Help?

It should tell you what the cause is.

Yes I tried the Activesysnc Troubleshoot several times... The log
tells me that I have zonealarm installed and and to check my
connections...

I've turned off zonealarm and rechecked my connection settings still
not connecting....

Whats driving nuts is I can hard reset and alls fine the 1st couple of
syncs I do.. Then later the same thing no connections... Go figure...

Thanks! for your suggestions

Hi,
ZoneAlarm is known to not disable itself when you choose the option to
disable it. So try uninstalling it or configuring it to allow ActiveSync to
connect.

Thanks!
All is good now. I had to hard reset the phone and reinstall all
programs. Now activesysnc is running like a charm..

Before I would back up the phone and hard reset, then install the
backup file... I guess something became corrupt. I don't know why no
changes were made to the phone and activesysnc just stopped working
one day all on its own...

Thanks again.
