ActiveSync 4.2 Settings for Tasks and Contacts are disable why ???

I can sync my contacts, calendar, tasks, and files but when i try configure
(settings) task , this option is disable...!!?? some tasks are sync to my
pocket but many other not. Please help!
I use windows XP professional and Windows Mobile 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.2

Alex,

The settings option will be disabled whenever you connect a WM 5.0 device.
The feature isn't provided by Microsoft like older OS's. With respect to
the Tasks which are not syncing, you might want to check if you are viewing
a filtered view on the device. Apart from that you might want to check if
the ones missing have any large notes or attachments.

Is there anyway I could sync only selected contacts with a WM5 device then?

I just downloaded Windows Mobile device program to my laptop running on Vista
Home basic. Problem is, I can't seems to sync it with my XDAll or even click
on the check box for my Contacts, Calendar, appointment, task, email and
notes. Is it incompatible with the info I have on my pda which was previously
syncing with my Windows XP and activesync 4.2. Others like mobile favourite
and files seems to sync ok.

2nd question is, I cannot seems to have some programs like avantgo and SPB
plus to automatically sync and update.
