Activesync 4.2, Windows Media Player 10 and Partnership issues

After all the problems I had USB connecting with Activesync 4.2, I did a
hard reset, connected and thought I was home free, until today.

I can still connect, but now I have two more issues:

1. When I connect as a "guest" in AS 4.2 the AS window still shows my PDA's
name as the one that came with the unit over 4-5 AS installs ago and even
after changing the PDA's name. Obviously, Partnership information is not
being deleted or uninstalled. This could be the reason many people are
having problems syncing and connecting.
Is there a way to delete Partnerships outside the software?

2. When the PDA is connected via USB to Activesync 4.2, Windows Media Player
rips CDs about 50-60% slower then when the PDA is not connected to the
computer. Nothing is running on the PDA and I'm ripping from the CD to my
computer's hard drive. PDA connected slow ripping, PDA not connected fast
ripping. Way too wierd.
