ActiveSync 4.5.0 supportcode 1

ActiveSync 4.5.0 randomly refuses to sync one or more appointments. I use
ActiveSync 4.5.0 Build 5096 on WinXP/SP2 with WM 5 on an HP2790b Pocket PC.
The problem started a few days ago. After syncing files, annotations, tasks,
and most of the appointments, ActiveSync issues a message that states that
one or more appointments have not been synced from the mobile device to the
desktop. Supportcode is: "1". Restarting Windows, or the mobile device, did
not solve the problem.
Checking the pst-file with scanpst.exe did not solve it, either.
It seems to me that the problem is increasing, because one of today's
appointments and an old contact are refused, too. Has anybody encountered
this?

Hi,
Try creating a new Calendar folder and move the calendar items there. Sync
then move them back until you find the item causing the problem.

Meanwhile, I found out that any item containing an annotation will no longer
synchronize from the mobile device to the desktop PC. Desktop PC to mobile
works fine. That means (a) a plain appointment and a plain contact will
synchronize, and (b) as soon as I make an annotaition to any of them on the
mobile device, they will no longer synchronize with the desktop PC.
There seems to be serious trouble with the database in the mobile device.
Please help!

Hi Chris, sorry to say, but this would not get me anywhere. It's not one
item causing the problem but inserting an annotation in a contact, an
appointment, or a task will render this item unsyncable. So...
If I created a new folder in Outlook and moved all items there, all
corresponding items on the mobile device would be deleted! It's the
annotations on the mobile that I don't want to lose. So what can I do?

Hello out there! Is there really no-one that has ever encountered - and
solved - this problem before? Am I really the only one?
Please help!
Best regards

After hours of googleing and searching, this is the one and only hint that
helped me:
ole32.dll has to be registrated: Click Start > Run and type the following:
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\ole32.dll

NOTE: This problem may have existed for quite a long time. So, after
reregistering ole32.dll, you should scan all items on your mobile device for
unsynced annotations. If there are, change the item >on the mobile device<
and sync. This is the way to keep all your changes made and sync them to your
desktop PC.
