I installed ActiveSync 4.5 (Beta 2) on my Windows XP Media Center Edition w/
SP2 PC - no other version of ActiveSync was installed before on this machine.
BTW (the version info does not say Beta 2 - it only says Beta. After
successful installation and use of ActiveSync 4.5 (Beta 2), I log into XP as
another (2nd) user (that has Admin rights). As the second user I try to
launch Windows Media Center ActiveSync 2.5 installer install tries to launch
and produces the following error:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is
unavailable.... Use source: C:\DOCUME~1\[the original install user
name]\LOCALS~1\Temp.
FYI - I think part the problem may be caused due to the fact that I
downloaded the installer and ran it immediately without saving to another
location. Other people are likely to do the same.
