Hi,

I installed and used ActiveSync 4.1 and 4.2 successfully, but when I install
ActiveSync 4.5, rapimgr.exe consumes 99% of CPU and makes my whole PC
instable.

I use Kerio Personal Firewall, but disabling that doesn't make a difference.
I googled for some stuff and seems others have had this issue too but a
resolution was nowhere to be found.

Has this been officially reported as a bug, or is there a workaround for me
to try other than downgrading to 4.2 which I have already done?

Lisa

Hi,
Is this cpu utilization occuring while you sync? What is the CPU speed of
the PC?

Are you able to sync?

Yes you're correct disabling Kerio/Sunbelt Personal Firewall doesn't make a
difference only uninstalling it works. Perhaps a good thing since its no
longer developed.

I had to install Activesync 4.5 for Windows Mobile today. I had Sunbelt Personal Firewall on before no problem with previous version of Activesync. However when I installed Activesync 4.5 it would not sync. After much search I was able to correct the problem. First I had to change a setting on my windows mobile: Settings->Connections->USB to PC and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality." Also I had to change the following settings in Sunbelt Personal Firewall
1. Allow inbound/outbound connections on the following programs:
wcescomm.exe (ActiveSync Application)
WCESMgr.exe (Activesync Connection Manager)
rapimgr.exe (ActiveSync RAPI Manager)
CEAPPMGR.exe (This one shows up as Application Manager in Sunbelt)

2. Open up TCP/IP port 26675 to inbound/outbound traffic.

After that my ActiveSync 4.5 worked perfectly.
