Before I upgraded my Palm 750V to WM6, it was pretty fast but it takes ages.

I am using a Microsoft XP version on my desktop. Anyone faced this problem
and have a solution?

regards

Hi,

What happens when you connect the device? Does ActiveSync give you any
message or is it simply displaying "Connecting..."? Additionally, have you
checked with Palm support?

I am having a similar issue with ActiveSync 4.5, but only on Windows Mobile
6. I used ActiveSync on Windows Mobile 5 which also uses persistant storage,
and did not experience the really slow sync times that I am now.

As the others have posted here, in Windows Mobile 2003, things were much
much faster. They got slower when Windows Mobile 5 came around due to the
persistant storage. I didn't expected them to get even slower in WM 6, but
somehow it did. It's almost painfully slow.

The strange thing is that when I sync with my Exchange Server via Wifi,
things are really fast. It's only when I'm using ActiveSync through the
cradle that things come to a crawl. I'm assuming it's a bug with the
ActiveSync software itself on the PC.

I have a WM2003 Audiovox smartphone and recently upgraded to a WM6 PPC phone
(the HTC Kaiser/AT&T Tilt); my laptop is a slightly older Dell that runs XP
Pro and has no problems.

I've been using ActiveSync 4.5 for a while now and have not had any issues
w/ my smartphone, but the new WM6 Tilt just takes FOREVER to sync (both via
bluetooth and USB). Moreover, during the sync process (3 min+) the device
becomes all but unusably slow, even with no other apps running besides
ActiveSync. Help?!?

Another problem I have is that ActiveSync keeps starting up on its own at
seemingly random intervals (on the Tilt); this seems to happen even when the
Tilt is not connected to anything (GPRS, wi-fi, etc.) and I don't have any
way to sync via GPRS anyway, so that really shouldn't affect ActiveSync after
I manually shut it down. Is there a registry fix or some sort of utility to
keep ActiveSync from auto loading in WM6

Hi everyone.

I have an issue with our CEOs PDA, an Imate Jas. Now I'm not an activesync
person, but there is no one else in the company who can do this, so I've
been lumped with this issue.

The setup is

- Desktop PC (Dell) running Windows XP Pro (SP2)
- ActiveSync 4.5
- I-Mate Jaz connected to PC via USB cable

ActiveSync will sync e-mail from our ExxhangeServer over the pda'a wireless
connection. All other items (calendar, notes, files, contacts and so on)
sync from his PC over the USB connection. This is the way HE want's it to
work.

Now all of this worked fine until we installed an internal proxy server.
This proxy is not accessable outside of our interna network. We applied the
proxy settings via a group policy. When the proxy settings were applied and
when he tried to do a Sync the Sync process over USB worked fine, but when
it tried to sync over wirless to the Exchange server it failed and said it
could not find the proxy server and to check the proxy settings. What
appears to be happening is that at some stage during the sync process the
PCs proxy settings are being applied to the PDAs internet connection
settings and seeing as our internal proxy is not externally accessable, this
of course causes it to fail.

We have manually removed the proxy settings from the PDAs connection
settings, but the settings re-appear next time a sync is done.

Is there any way of stopping this from happening?

Regards

Craig
