The problem is it doesn;t get this far. I've only recently got the
PocketPC so I'm not that familiar with it's quirks (been using PCs since
DOS 3.0).

Which desktop? Actually in any case PC or PPC no folders are created.
When I run the installer a WinZIP self-extractor pops up showing files
being extracted. After this a dialog is displayed - it's the Add/Remove
Programs dialog. I can only get to see it if ActiveSync is not
connected. If ActiceSync is connected that dialog flashes up &
disappears instantly.

I can open the install file with WinRAR and see the contents. There are
quite a few cab files in there: one called 'commonfiles' and then one
each for ARM, MIPS & SH3 processors.
So I assume you mean for me to copy the relevant processor CAB +
commonfiles.CAB to the PPC manually and see if they extract?

I defintiely do have admin privilege (on the host PC! I assume there's
no admin/user distinction on the PPC?)
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a try.
