Activesync cannot open COM port

Common problem from searching the web, though I haven't found a good
solution. I want to use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, because it took me
forever to get everything working and it works well now.

Problem now as you probably know is I get the subject error every time I
boot without the USB Bluetooth adapter plugged in. Then you have 2 more
dialogs to cancel out of. Then you have to go into Activesync later if you
subsequently plug in the adapter and enable the COM port, then you have to
try 2-3 times or wait before you can successfully connect with the device.

How do I get rid of this without uninstalling the Microsoft stack?

Yes, that's the way it works and no, there's nothing you can do about that
I've ever found. You can simply uncheck the checkbox, "Allow connections to
one of the following", in the Connection Settings dialog in ActiveSync on
the PC, of course. If you do that, you'll have to check it again before you
sync via Bluetooth.
