ActiveSync crashing - how to disable "Media"

Since I enabled to synchronize "Media" in ActiveSync 4.5 it now always
crashes after connecting when it reaches the bullet media.

Since the list of items to sync is only active and (de)selectable after
the first sync run-through and that run-through never completes (one of
the most brain-damaged design decisions I have ever seen!) it is
impossible to uncheck "Media" again. How do I now get rid of that sync
entry and get synchronization properly working again?

I'd suggest you do as follows:

- In ActiveSync without the mobile device connected, select File ->
Delete Mobile Device and the recreate the partnership. If that doesn't work:

- Re-install AS. If that doesn't work:

- Un-install and then re-install AS.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went another route though: In the
registry, under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE
Services\Partners\<deviceId>\Services\Synchronizat ion\Objects I found
that most items, among them Media, have a "Disabled"-flag. Setting that
to 1 allowed me to stop those crashes.
