Activesync failure to lookup address but works with IMAP

I have a VPN set up with a iPAQ6315 through GPRS. This will sync and
send/receive mail without issue. If however I try to perform name lookup it
willl only look in the contacts list not on the Exchange server. I have
entered the Exchange server details in OPTIONS, ADDRESS

If I create an IMAP mail session in INBOX with the same OPTIONS, ADDRESS, it
will lookup names from the Exchange server.

Any hacks/fixes available to convince Activesync to lookup the Exchange name
list?
