ActiveSync Guest Issue

Mt device syncs fine the first time. If I remove the device and put back in
the cradle from that point further it is considered as Guest. I can fix it
one sync at a time by the below steps.

Remove the PPC
Then Delete the Partnership
Then insert the PPC
A new Partnership is created and works fine as long as the PPC does not get
removed from the cradle.
Once removed from the cradle the cycle starts over

Remove the PPC and reinsert and AS goes back to Guest. I have tried the
items in the link to troubleshoot AS here
http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/activesync/guest.htm

I even reinstalled SP2 due to the IE issue talked about on the above site.

Any ideas?

Which version of ActiveSync are you using? Have you tried reinstalling
ActiveSync? Which device are you using?

Hi,
Have you tried a hard reset of the Pocket PC? You will lose all your data.
Also, are you logged in as an Administrator on the PC? This is required to
write the registry settings when you setup a partnership.

Also, keep in mind that you can call the Pocket PC OEM for assistance with
ActiveSync.

Hi Jeff,

Try registering MSXML3.DLL and MSXML.DLL.

To register these dlls, doing the following:

On your computer, click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 msxml3.dll

You should receive a message stating that the registration succeeded.
Repeat the step and register the other dll as well. Type -

regsvr32 msxml.dll

Restart the computer and attempt to synchronize.
