Hi,
The Conflict resolution settings are invoked specifically incase a conflict arises during sync. That is if you have edited the *SAME* appointment or data content (Contact, File etc...) on your PPC and the computer. During synchronization, this action would result as a conflict where Activesync does not know which copy of appointment needs to be updated on the device/computer. It will then check for conflict-resolution settings that you have selected and proceed. With respect to the lost data, I suggest you first take a look in the Deleted items folder of Outlook. If the device has deleted the content from your desktop, then you should find it in there. Any chance you are syncing with two desktops? -- Regards, Raj Pillai Microsoft MVP - Mobile Devices http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj "MS" <> wrote in message news:... > Background: > > Using Windows XP Pro SP1 (with all updates), Office 2003, and ActiveSync > 3.8. Actually, this time I was lucky, in that I discovered the data loss quick
enough, and did find the lost data in the "Deleted Items" folder. However, other times I have lost data permanently. (I have it set to "clear deleted items folder on exit".) No, I am not syncing to two desktops. Only to two devices (PPC and Smartphone) (not simultaneously, of course) from one computer. Any idea what could have caused the problem? Thanks.
