I am posting the following for a colleague. Any ideas as to how to resolve
the problem?

Greetings from Chicago,
--- Ed Garay, University of Illinois at Chicago

I have been trying to run ActiveSync on my Dell PC so I can sync contacts
and calendar with my new Verizon Pocket PC XV6700. The Dell is running XP
Pro 5.1 SP2. When I tried to sync I got a red "X" message: Wcescomm.exe -
Ordinal Not Found: The ordinal 30 could not be located in the dynamic link
library MAPI32.dll. Searching microsoft.com for those file names led me to
try a WindowsUpdate, and renaming the MAPI file in several folders. This did
not work, so I restored the MAPI filenames, but I don't know what to try
next. I have Oracle/UICalendar tied to Outlook 2003 on the Dell, if this
matters. Thanks...

Its likely that when you installed Oracle/UICalendar that it replaced
mapi32.dll with its own version that is incompatible with Activesync...

If you repair outlook (which puts the default MAPI providers back in), does
it start working again?

Mike
