ActiveSync to Outlook 2002

I can get my AOL e-mail by connecting to the AOL Server from my Acer n30 PDA
but I cannot get my files downloaded to my PDA from Outlook. I am running
ActiveSync 3.8 and Outlook 2002. I have Uninstalled and Reinstalled Active
Sync several times but no change.

Active sync did transfer these files to my Acer PDA but no longer does it.
It did transfer my AOL e-mails as well from outlook without connecting to
the AOL server. Is there something I am doing wrong. I do have Outlook
Express on my PC would ActiveSync By any chance be trying to transfer
non-existent files from there? If so how do I instruct my PC to get files
from Outlook 2002 and not Outlook Express.

Anyone out there that can help please.

Thanks & Regards
Martin C

Hi,
Do you have the options for ActiveSync setup to sync the files? This is
done on the desktop using Tools - Options and selecting the Inbox.

I have solved this problem now.

What I did was completely uninstalled Outlook and active sync including
CAREFULLY removing any Outlook registry items as well. (Backup of registry
recommended just in case you delete something you shouldn't have done). If
unsure do seek help from others who know what they are doing. I did lose
some e-mails on outlook so make sure you copy anything important. Then I
reinstalled Outlook and activesync. Hard reset my PDA making sure I had made
a backup copy of everything. Activesynced again and everything is AOK.

Hope this will help out others.

If you have any questions please e-mail me. Making sure you clearly state in
subject "Active Sync to Outlook 2002" otherwise the e-mail will be deleted.
No attachments please these will NOT be opened.

Thanks
Martin C

I have connected an Orange spv m2000 (this is the same device as the Imate
pda2K) to my pc and am using outlook 20002 and the latest version of
microsoft activesync. The problem I have is that when putting the device in
the cradle and opening outlook I cannot see any of my e-mails or contacts.
When removing the device from the cradle and opeing outlook, I can see all
e-mails and contacts. It would seem as though therre are two copies of
outlook and the device cannot link up with the outlook that I want it to on
my computer. I have tried uninstalling outlook and activesync and
reinstalling several times but cannot solve the problem. I have tried to
contact Orange support and microft but they are not able (or wiling) to help.
When the device is in the cradle and opening outlook I am able to reset my
e-mail accounts and receive e-mails but this is not see and I am unable to
file them in the main outlook I use when I remove the device from the cradle.
I just want to use one version of outlook that I have. Previous to this
device I used a Dell Axim 30 on this computer that I no longer use. I don't
know if this has anything to do with the problem. Can anyone please help??

Hi,
Did you install the latest service pack for Office 2002? Are you using any
add-ins for Outlook?
